Barbara Nakirima
My name is Nakirima Barbara. I am 23 years old and live in Bisenyi village, Buseruka sub-county, Hoima district, Uganda. Unfortunately, I had to leave school in fourth grade because my family could not afford the fees. I worked as a farmer to earn a living.
I joined the Ntunga training program to gain fashion and design skills that will allow me to become self-employed and have a better life. Now, I know that my future lies in fashion design. When I was asked to stay as a trainer after graduation, I saw that it was an excellent opportunity to practice what I had learned and pass it on to others. As a trainer, it is important to me that my students learn for life and will be able to sustain themselves through their skills.
